central partners and funding
The concept was born out of discussions between the Premier League, the Metropolitan Police, The Football Foundation, The FA, and The Football League. The programme’s primary partners and funders are the Football Foundation, Premier League and Met Police. 17 other major police forces link to the programme via the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO). Nationally there are numerous other partners including Government, the youth volunteering charity v and the Brit Trust.
Following a successful pilot programme, the following 3 year investment was announced in September 2008:
- £4.71 million Football Foundation
- £3 million Metropolitan Police
- £1 million through the DCMS from the Premier League’s Good Causes fund.
- 700k from the youth volunteering charity v and the Premier League
- Further funding provided by local bodies will boost the total funding to more than £13 million over three years.
